Did some weights this am, and push ups, but lot of work to do and not really focused – went into town to see Neil, great, and then Bernard – wicked meeting.

Came home and went straight to gym burned 498 calories, sweated loads, really focused loved it.

Now going to get weighed. eek.

  3. Hi Mary – thanks for your note – you’re the first person to comment on here. Well someone I don’t know anyway – I don’t know you do I?

I have had to start again, because of the inevitable slide since mid Feb, my Ma got ill, and I focused on that, and on drinking to get through it – clever huh?

So last Tuesday was my first weigh-in, and I was 105kg – this is clinically obese according to UK BMI stats (Body Mass Index). So my target weight is 85kg, which still puts me overweight – I’d need to be 74kg at my height to have the perfect BMI – this is a long way off.

In a week I lost 3kg, my target is 20kg in 12 weeks, so I am on course at this early stage.

    Diet-wise two things really.

    Eating less, and eating better.

I am off starch carbs, so bread, rice, potatoes, pasta, etc. No sandwiches, eating a lot of sashimi – you gotta be rich to get fit these days it seems.

Also I eat a bigger lunch than a supper and I don’t eat supper after 7.30pm.

Also not drinking beer, or spirits (never really drunk spirits anyway), occasional glass of wine – only a glass.

Not smoking anymore – it’s easy not to smoke as I am clocking 30-35 km per week running, as well as lots of cardiovascular work (cycling, cross trainer) and smoking restricts breathing capacity – I was getting really wheezy at the beginning, but that’s wearing off now.

Today I ran, but I’ll log that anyway.

are you planning on training also?

    Matt

  4. Well you do sound very comitted, I hope that you achieve your aim. Don’t become disheartened if your weight loss slows down.
I liked Iamstones, was almost zen writing.
Not training myself but good luck.

    Mary
